Oct 2007- June 2011: Worked as exploration geologist for Bangkok-based Pan African Mining Corporation Madagascar/Asia Thai Mining. Coal exploration and reserve assessment in Sakoa, south western
Madagascar, basically evaluating circa 100 km strikes of coal measures in the Karoo (phanerozoic cover) by mapping and extensive drilling. Gold and PGE exploration in Andavakoera (north of Madagascar), Andriamena,
Befandriana Nord, Tsaratanana (central north of Madagascar) and Ankavandra (central west of Madagascar), assessing the fields through world-known geological models.

Olivier RAKOTOMALALA pamm.dt@moov.mg co-founding director of Pan African Mining Madagascar
Sept 2005-2007: Worked as junior geologist for geochemical and geological sampling (data acquisition) for the consortium
Programme de Gestion des Ressources Minérales-GLW-British Geological Survey-United States Geological Survey. That was a World Bank-Madagascan Government project for remapping the geology, geomorphology and
economic geology (especially working on ore deposits) of Madagascar, encompassing the North, the East and central East regions.
Attributes:
· Assisting senior geologists in data collection i.e. geochemical and geological sampling, mapping;
· Managing of daily traverses and access facilities throughout the concerned fields.
Referees: Dr Dominique RAKOTOMANANA rakdom@yahoo.fr ; Robert D. TUCKER, Ph.D. U.S Geological Survey. Virginia USA. rtucker@usgs.gov
Jun-Dec 2004: Coal prospecting in Itasy area (West of Antananarivo, Madagascar), final dissertation required for the mining geologist engineer M.Sc. degree. That project worked on finding mining opportunities
of late quaternary coals (Pliocene and Pleistocene lignites) to avoid the environmental decadence in that area in which basic energy still relay on natural resources.
Attributes:
· Field prospection, mapping, sampling, laboratory analysis,
· Statistics, investigation of current national database on coal and environment.
Referees: Pr Roger RANDRIANJA, Departement Mines, Ecole Supérieure Polytechnique d’Antananarivo, Université d’Antananarivo; Pr Eddy RASOLOMANANA, Departement Mines, Ecole Supérieure
Polytechnique d’Antananarivo, Université d’Antananarivo
Oct-Nov 2004: Worked as junior geologist for a University of Antananarivo-Hamburg University partnership in volcanology studies of Itasy quaternary volcanoes (geomorphology, geology and mineralogy) and
Ambohiby-Bevato-Tsiroanomandidy ring-like structures (mining opportunities). That included samplings, identification of volcanoes, lavas, the characteristics and geochemistry of magmatic chambers and, most of all,
mapping.
Oct-Dec 2003: Trainee within KRAOMA (chromite mine) in Brieville (Central North of Madagascar), training on blasting, drilling and hauling, but especially working on explosives and safety blasting, in the open
pit mine. I worked as well for geochemical studies in a project for gold and platinum assessment as second income of the company.
Oct-Dec 2002: Trainee for PRSM (a government mining project) in Mahaiza Betafo Antsirabe (Central South of Antananarivo Madagascar) for pegmatite geology, assessment and direct exploitation, providing the
local miners with technical support and information about legal mining activities.
